The Tank de Cartier is one of the great icons of wristwatchmaking.<\/p>\n

The first wristwatch in history was created in 1904 by Louis Cartier for his friend, the aviation pioneer Santos Dumont.<\/p>\n

In 1917, clearly inspired by the Santos, Cartier designed the Tank, a design inspired by the armoured tanks of the First World War, from which it takes its name. It was launched in 1919 with six units.<\/p>\n
