The Bicentennial Set of Presidential Cameos 1776-1976 (Madison Mint)

Precious collection of 38 bars of one ounce each, in .999 silver!

One ounce is equivalent to 31,10 grams.

.999 silver or fine silver is the highest purity silver (99.9% of the alloy is silver), also known as pure silver. It is not usually used in jewellery because it is so soft and malleable that it does not offer the hardness required for commercial jewellery designs. It is reserved for the creation of bullion and numismatics.

Madison Mint was a privately owned mining company that reached the peak of its production during the 1970s. Its bullion art (highly sought after for its numismatic and collectible detail) features an impressive variety of themes and designs (from the historical to the romantic).

Among its most prized pieces are the 1976 Bicentennial silver ounces, which feature the bust of 37 U.S. presidents, beginning with George Washington and ending with Gerald Ford.

This particular collection has one additional ingot, that of James E. Carter, who began his term of office in 1977.

The collection can be expanded with later presidents…but as the name suggests, the strict collection is for the Bicentennial 1776-1976.
